About Me

Luka Stular

Hi, I’m Luka!

Welcome to my blog; it’s nice to have you here.

If you’re here, you’re probably wondering who I am. Well, let me introduce myself.

My Story

I was born and raised in a small European country, Slovenia. I have always been passionate about sports. I spent most of my youth playing football, and after nine years of practicing, it was time to call it quits.

Just then, I was finishing high school and started choosing a college. It was never a question of where I would end up. I opted for the Faculty of Sports, where I continued to develop my love of sports.

But I had another passion that I neglected for a long time – writing.

When I was 19, I joined a team that ran a football website, and I worked there for four years. In 2019 I quit, but my passion for writing remained. I started thinking about whether to set up my own website.

Football was less and less important to me, but I was already really into cycling. I fell in love with it in the summer of 2014, when I broke my leg and was forced to lay on the couch for the majority of the day. Luckily, the Tour de France was taking place just then, which was the highlight of the day. I swear I was hooked after a few stages.

In 2020 I decided to create a cycling news website in my native language. I was living and breathing for it, but it had limited reach since only two million people speak Slovenian.

I felt that I needed to look beyond the border. I remembered how hard it was for me to start cycling and how many things I didn’t know back then. To help others, I decided to start a blog, where every cycling beginner would find all the information he needs. And that’s how Cycling Beginner was born.
